Johnathan Logan Jr.
Johnathan Logan Jr., General Manager, rejoined the District in the fall of 2009 after completing the National Urban Fellows Program. The Urban Fellows was a fellowship program that combines graduate-level academic coursework with practical public administration training. His return marked the start of his fifth year of service with the District. Logan continues to lead District staff in carrying out the policies of the board. He has been involved in several community initiatives centered in matters including youth development, community development planning, community policy, and economic development. He has played an integral role in development of the Marin City Health and Wellness Center, Rocky Graham Park Development, the Recreation Center Renovation planning, the Ballpark rebuild planning, and many other projects in Marin City. Logan attended Oral Roberts University where he attained a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management and hold a Masters in Public Administration degree from Baruch College in New York, NY. His life's goal is to improve the lives of others through his public service.
Program and Operations Director
Monique Brown is a Workforce Development professional with over 18 years’ experience in workforce and program administration. Prior to joining the Marin City Community Services District and assuming her current role as Director of Programs and Operations, she served as County Director for The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) in Oakland where she managed the second largest transitional employment project for CEO outside of its main location in New York City. She also served as Director of Programs for the Marin City Community Development Corporation (MCCDC) from 2010 – 2012. Monique attended the University of California at Berkeley, majoring in Political Science and recently completed a Management Training Course through the American Express Leadership Institute in New York City. She is also a Certified Global Career Development Facilitator through Rutgers University and has attended numerous workforce development trainings and seminars.
Alex Behrouz, Administrative Analyst, currently works to support the General Manager in several capacities, including general office administration and carrying out special projects. He also engages with the public on several matters including facility rentals and general citizen concerns. Alex has lived an exciting life that started in Iran. He is fluent in Farsi. In his personal time he enjoys following professional sports such as basketball and tennis.
Recreation Center Director
Paul Austin, Recreation Director, is a lifelong Marin City resident who has maintained a fervent dedication to youth development since his teenage years. Before joining the District full time in 2004, Mr. Austin spent many summers working as a Recreation Summer Counselor, while pursuing his undergraduate degree in Texas. Currently, Austin manages most aspects of youth programming as the Recreation Coordinator, including supervising the recreation leaders and contractors and program development. One of his career highlights includes co-organizing a very successful shoe drive for Haitian Earthquake victims. Austin was instrumental in mobilizing and motivating youth and community members to collect more than 1,600 pairs of shoes.
Teen Program Coorinator
Amber Allen-Peirson is a poet, mother, teacher, and student who has worked with the young people of Marin City for 4 years. She has participated in multiple programs including Bridge the Gap College Prep, The Youth Empowerment Program at the Marin City CDC and she is currently the youth program coordinator of the Teen Council and the Teen Center at the Marin City CSD. In addition Amber has created her own programming with the students such as Words With Amber and the Readie Deedie book club, which both focus on literacy through poetry and discussion based reading. This summer 2016, Amber is taking 10 girls from Marin City and the surrounding bay area to Kenya for the pilot of her Power Beyond Measure Program, in partnership with the development team Jennifer Nichols, Darby Henry, and Daraja Academy. The program will focus on identity and leadership within the community.
Marketing & Communications Consultant
Domenica has a diverse academic and professional history with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from UCSB and a graduate degree in Public Health from Touro University. She started working with non-profit and government agencies at age 15. She is committed to community development via improving the overall health and wellness of populations. She loves to travel and has spent time in Ethiopia, Ghana, England, Italy, France, Mexico, Egypt, Jordan, and areas all over the United States.
Edward "Boone" Green
Edward "Boone" Green, Recreation Leader, is a long time Marin County resident, known to residents as "Boone". He has been employed with the District since 2007. Green’s integral role in promoting health and wellness among Marin City residents is best realized through his work as a group and personal trainer and sports activities leader. Mr. Green runs the respected Marin City Boxing Club and other aerobic programs for youth, teens and adults. In addition to training Pro Boxer, Paul Nave and news anchor Dana King, Mr. Green is credited for spring boarding numerous Marin City residents towards improved physical health. He has prepared youth to compete professionally in sport of boxing.
John Harris Jr.
Recreation Center Assistant Director
John Harris Jr., Recreation Leader, best known as “Jr.”, is both a product of Recreation programs in Marin City, and today, an asset. His connection to the community is strong with family roots in the community dating as far back as 1942. Mr. Harris knows the importance of giving back to the community. Jr. officially became a staff member in 2004. Currently, he serves youth as a sports coach/trainer, behavior specialist and mentor. After years of honing his basketball skills at the Manzanita Recreation Center Gymnasium, the former youth program participant is now quite skilled at the sport and a community legend. Marin City parents know Junior to be a supportive caregiver who displays great patience with their children.
Regenold Berkley, known to many as Reggie, is the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for supervision and implementation of the facilities and the grounds maintenance program. Reggie rejoined the MCCSD team in 2013. Before joining CSD Reggie served in the US Army for 8.5 years during which time he started a family. Reggie has four children and seven grandchildren. Reggie also was an avid football player and boxer. Now in his free time, he enjoys fishing and relaxing.
Marin City Community Connector
Juanita was raised in Marin City; her maternal grandparents migrated here from Louisiana during World War II and worked in the shipyards. She works for the YMCA as a Restorative Justice Coordinator, and for the Marin City Community Service District as a Community Connector. She feels really blessed to work in a cabout and is grateful to work in a community that has supported her through out the years. Juanita was also recently appointed to the Marin IJ Editorial Board. Her hobbies are Zumba dancing, cooking, reading, and serving the community that she cares about.
